Hi! I’m an ecology PhD student attending ESA 2026 and am wondering whether any other conference attendees would be interested in joining one or more informal nature outings before the meeting.
Tentative plans:
- Thursday, July 23: Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake
- Friday, July 24: Brighton Lakes and Big Cottonwood Canyon
- Saturday, July 25: Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve and possibly Farmington Bay
- Sunday July 26: Also open!
I can rent and drive the car. Participants could divide the rental, fuel, parking, and entrance costs. Joining for only one day is completely fine.
My interests include birds, wetlands, mountains, so it can be plenty of hiking and wildlife-observations. I’m also open to travel during the conference.
